Change your BMW selection
The BMW E-Series N54 and N55 engines are known to experience oil cooling challenges, which is why we developed the Mosselman Oil Cooler Kits. The high-capacity cooler ensures that E-Series models with N54 and N55 engines maintain optimal temperatures, even during demanding driving conditions.
For the best cooling performance, we recommend pairing the kit with the Mosselman Oil Thermostat, which is sold separately.
The Mosselman Oil Cooler Kit is specifically developed for the BMW 1-Series E8x and BMW 3-Series E9x equipped with the N54/N55 engine. The kit is available as a single oil cooler setup, which replaces the OEM cooler on the right side of the car, or as a twin extension kit, adding an additional cooler to the left side.
Note: These cooler kits are not completely “plug and play.” Some modifications to the car are required to accommodate the larger oil cooler and bracket. Installation time for the single oil cooler kit is approximately 3 hours.
INSTALLATION MANUAL SINGLE OIL COOLER KITS
The Mosselman Single Oil Cooler Kit includes a Setrab 19-row oil cooler, a stainless steel Mosselman bracket, an AN8 oil adapter available in red or grey, and a complete hose kit. The Mosselman Oil Thermostat is sold separately.
The Mosselman Twin Oil Cooler Extension Kit adds an additional cooler on the left side of the car, allowing you to upgrade a single cooler setup to a twin cooler system. It comes with a Setrab 19-row cooler, a pre-assembled bracket, mounting hardware, and a hose kit. The twin cooler configuration is recommended for vehicles operating in very hot climates or for cars that are frequently used on the track.
The twin oil cooler extension kit is an add-on product and requires the Mosselman Single Oil Cooler Kit to function. This kit is not “plug-and-play.” Some modifications to the car are necessary to accommodate the larger oil cooler and bracket. Additional OEM parts required for installation include: the left front oil cooler air duct, left wheel arch air duct, and the inner wheel arch for the auxiliary cooler (left side).
Installing the twin oil cooler extension on a BMW 1M requires extra modifications to fit the left-side cooler. The 1M comes with an auxiliary water cooler on the left, which is the location for the second oil cooler. To fit the oil cooler, the auxiliary water cooler must be removed, and a larger radiator may need to be installed. This will add extra time to the installation process.
Take complete control of your car’s cooling performance by customizing your Mosselman Oil Cooler Kit to your exact specifications. Using the buttons below, you can choose the kit that fits your car model and select your preferred oil adapter color. On the shop page, you can also add optional extras, such as the twin extension kit or a Mosselman oil thermostat.
